I am changing out my existing exhaust system that did not have the option for the actuator to work. I zip tied it up inside the back bumper. The new HKS system has arrived and now I am having trouble lining up the actuator to the new exhaust system. The actuator is working as it should, from what I can tell. The issue that I am having, no matter what mode it's in normal or sport, the actuator will turn but not turn to the correct position to align perfectly to the HKS spring actuator.

I did also pull the fuse when the car was in sport mode to eliminate any excessive open and closes of the valve actuator while not in use. I put the fuse back in and it works, but for the life of me, I can't get it to line up to install the three bolts.

Has anyone experienced this and have a solution? I do not want to force the actuator tab with a flathead screwdriver to align it up perfectly.

Am I over thinking this? Really no information out there that I have found. Any help would be appreciated.

I had the HKS dual muffler and that valve was so amazingly built. Didn’t even use the cheap paper clip. Injen exhaust was good quality with a piece of shit valve that rattled like mad.
Maybe you’d rather buy my AWE setup? No valve needed!

what was the issue? Was the exhaust valve in the wrong position?
The previous exhaust didn’t have it. When I installed this new HKS the fitment for the actuator was off slightly. Got the wife to crank the car and I placed the actuator in until it caught the right position. Problem solved. Installed the bolts. Works perfect now. No more trying to figure it out.

Hahahah. The exhaust I just removed was the knock off of the AWE. Drone was terrible from 72-90mph. Wife hated it. I loved the deepness and the throaty sound but the drone was awful. ?

You get what you pay for. That’s a cheap knockoff of the design. It absolutely does not have the same drone cancel that AWE does. I bet AWE is louder outside the car and quieter inside the car. It’s worth the $$

I personally have never heard the real AWE in person but this knockoff was not a bad exhaust for the money. The fitment was great, no issues, quality clamps, welds were top notch. It will be for sale soon as soon as I clean it up. Will come complete. Someone might want it.
