Is this normal? HKS HI-Power valve actuator fitment

Here’s a link to a video of fitment of the valve actuator. When locked into the grooves it won’t align correctly. This doesn’t look normal to me at all. Can I turn the piece on the valve actuator to make it fit? Will this damage the control unit? Any help is greatly appreciated as I waited 3 months for this thing to get here.

I think some exhaust manufacturers require the valve to be in the open position before disconnecting...
Not sure if that's the case with this particular exhaust?
I would not force the actuator as it'll probably break it..

Does the his require a fixing bow/spring to open in close the valve?
On my borla I had to actually bend n compress the oe spring in order for everything to line up?

It does, however the issue is the mechanism that turns the spring is hitting against the housing, so I’m unable to turn it any further.

Bend the spring...I had the same issue with my Borla...

Is the valve on the exhaust closed fully with the way the actuator sits now?

Oh you actually bend the spring, not sure why but I thought you meant just twisting it lol. It is fully closed in the video. I’m not actually installing the exhaust, but I work at a Toyota dealership and a Supra tech is. If the sport mode position won’t work I’ll see about having him bend the spring.

I think if you manipulate the spring a little so everything lines up and the spring doesn't touch the exhaust walls when opening n closing you'll be good...
