Hold key to steering column

Battery went dead. Have it on charge now and it’s saying to put the key on the column. I’m looking at the manual and cannot find where to actually put the key. It will not start

Yup. Just hold the fob flat agains that area under the wiper stalk. There should be a little key etched in the plastic steering column cover. Try both fobs in case one battery is in better shape than the other.

Ok. I found it and it worked. What a PITA that is. I hope it goes away and goes back to normal
