Feel free to trash me all you want. I'm mechanically ignorant. I want to sell my aftermarket wheels that the tire shop transferred the stock TPMS over to. To remove the TPMS, do I just use a socket to remove the whole stem, or do I pry the end of this off? I'm confused and, like I said, a dummy. Thanks. Pictures for reference:

Personally I'd just buy another set of sensors as you can get them fairly cheap. If you really want to try removing them I would unscrew the sensor first so you don't run the risk of damaging the sensor.

I believe you 'd have to push the valve stem back through the wheel from the outside or cut it off. May have to just leave the valve stems in there. Typically I see people cut the stems when replacing one if they're bad or leaking to save lots of time trying to fight them out.

See the hex below the valve stem? It screws apart. The tpms clamshell clamps the wheel hole. Just unscrew it with a deep well and it comes right off.

Figured as much; just wanted clarification before I did anything. Thank you!

I was not referring to destroying the sensor if he wanted the valve stem if that's what you're referring to and I did say he could remove the sensor

no need to cut its not a rubber type senor
I was not referring to cutting the sensor I was only referring to the valve stem. I'm very aware the sensors are removable. I just wasn't sure if he was trying to get the stem and sensor off the wheels. May have worded it poorly since someone laughed at my response but valve stems aren't really made to be removed hence why I said what I said

Huh? The stem comes with the sensor. Only rubber sensors need to be cut/pulled out but will rip once removed.

Right, but you can remove the sensor from the valve stem
