100% happy to necro this thread.

Anyone going to any IMSA races this year? I'll probably be at Indy and Road Atlanta if anyone wants to meet up. I try to hit Sebring every year.

I enjoy IMSA a lot, but F1 and IndyCar ar my real passions. The balance of power in IMSA makes for good racing, but it's so artificial and they keep changing it. So you are at the whim of the IMSA gods as to whether or not your brand will be competitive.

I've done a few Daytona 25 Hour races and a couple of Sebring 12 Hours. Back in the day, when IMSA was doing races in the streets of Columbus, OH, I volunteered as an 'on track van driver' doing fan rides around the track between races.

The last few years I've gone to the Roar Before the 24. It's inexpensive, there are far less people, and I get to see a couple of support races. As an avid amateur photographer, it also gives me a chance to get some get photos due to the smaller crowds.

Man... The 25 (and test #23) was the car I was on with RLL. I miss it like you can't imagine.

That do you mean by being on that car? You worked and crewed for RLL? BTW, I lived in Columbus for 20+ years before I moved to SW Florida in 1999. So I've been a RLL fan for a long time. And when they first came out with BMW P1 cars I thought they were the best looking car on the track.

Yep yep. I was with RLL in 2023. I was the lead fabricator and mechanic. Best shop in racing as far as I'm concerned (outside of F1 of course).

I live in Ashland now.I make it down to Columbus probably 1-2 times a month. What part of Florida? I'm from Alabama originally.

I'm in SW Florida (Cape Coral). I've been here 25 years. I lined in Columbus for about 25 years before that (big Columbus Chill fan) and was born, raised and lived near Detroit for 30 years before that. I raced SCCA from 1980 thru 1997. I've been doing autoX and a few track days since I moved to Florida.

Since you were in Alabama, have you ever been to or driven at Barber Motorsports Park? It's like MidOhio except it's way prettier and with even more elevation changes!
