From the point of just that NASCAR is so big, No. 1 spector event in the US I believe, and replacing the camry with the Supra...

I'm no Nascar expert, but from my 5 minutes of research I think the Camry will still run in the main Cup series at the top level. I believe the Xfinity series is for drivers that haven't worked their way up the ladder or something. So the Supra will run Xfinity and the Camry in Cup. I think that's consistent with other manufacturers, ie I saw mention of Ford/Chevy/Dodge using their sports cars years ago for Xfinity while the "sedans" still run in Cup. Toyota was just the outlier who didn't have a sports car to run so the Camry was a bit out of place.

But don’t the nascars really not have much in common with the production cars, most of them don’t even look like the car they’re suppose to be

Yeah they're just namesakes. Basically just for advertising. The cars themselves are all tube frames with pushrod V8s, 4-spd Manuals, and McLaren electronics funny enough.

Maybe the Nascar Supra will be auto only too... since the "manual transmission cannot hold all the power" lol
