Tools Needed
- slim pry tool
- flat bondo spreader
- microfiber or other soft towel

1. Begin by pressing the top edge of the mirror glass into the housing. This will angle the entire panel upwards, exposing the lower edge and allowing a bit more room to access the back of the panel.

2. Brace the blue pry tool from the IND install kit with the yellow bondo spreader under it. Wedge both under and behind the mirror glass. Carefully use the pry tool as a wedge to pop the glass panel from its articulating base.

3. Rotate the mirror glass off to the side. We like to rest it face down on a microfiber draped over the edge of the door. Having the window rolled completely down helps.

4. Locate the three sets of mirror cap retaining tabs that protrude through the mirror housing. Use your fingers or a small set of needle nose pliers to squeeze each tab. Once loosened, you can pull the OE mirror cap away from the base.

5. Install the replacement cap by aligning it with the tab openings in the mirror base and pressing it into place with uniform pressure.

6. Reinstall the mirror glass panel. It'll click into place with a firm press in the middle or on both sides. Don't forget to re-position your mirrors.

Good DIY.

I am assuming this is the same way to install the OEM cf mirror covers as well?
Yes. Or you can just pull off the OEM plastic mirror caps without removing the mirror itself. I was able to do both sides without breaking any tabs by just getting my fingers under the OEM mirror caps and pulling with steady pressure. The above method is probably a safer way to do it without breaking the retaining clips but I was successful without doing that. The OEM mirror caps then just snap into place.
