Probably just a good what if. Hell got us all looking and thinking… I just saw an article of a MX5 with some Flying Miata swap. So good timing for me. Curiosity wise ?

Hey whatsup guys, I am new to the car community/scene. I just bought a 2.0 supra back in february and im on the allocation list for the 6mt supra. I should have just waited to buy the 3.0 6MT but I got really impatient.
Anyways I wanted to ask some of you experts is a 3.0 6MT swap possible on 2.0? I was told it wouldnt fit on the 2.0 but it uses the same auto transmission and housing as the 3.0 and im wondering if its possible to get done with some custom work? Ill also replace the diff with the lsd from 3.0 as well as brakes/calipers/hubs.
I cant wait any longer and just gonna get oem toyota parts and put it in. I know it sounds stupid bc the 3.0 manual is only 8k-10k more (MSRP) but ive already been waiting a long time and theres still couple people ahead of me on the list.
Yup, thats exactly the one I’m looking at! About 5-6k for all the parts. There is a wrecked A91-MT on ebay which is being parted out. The manual trans and almost everything else is on there for sale, even the clutch and brake pedal combo is on there….happy trails
Havent really thought this through yet but yea that was the plan. Just buy the parts and R&R the existing transmission. The seller of the MT parts messaged me and said “check the forums” and I havent seen anything in regards to this hence the reason why I posted here in the first place.Besides saying no just don't do it, how are you going to get around the ecu related stuff? You really think you are just going to swap in the 3.0 ecu and it's going to run?
im in OCThats why I am bringing it up... cause I really don't think there is a way to program a 3.0 Mt to a 2.0 vin. It's a whole different operating system. Might want to reach out to fetmo to see if it's possible.
BTW- where in SoCal are you?
…..out of curiosity, how old are you? The ones egging you on to do it, are just waiting for the fireworks to start. I really don’t know how you think you can pull this off. An older car, yeah, sure. No problem. But a newer one where everything is dependent on the computer? Especially since people are having problems with doing something so simple as unlocking the ecu. Getting the car move to move with this swap will be a miracle. My guess is that it’ll be forever in limp mode. But hey….nothing ventured, nothing gained I guess.
