ive driven in 30 degree cold with pilot sport 4s, and have not had an issue especially when they warm up a little, but not advised as a regular thing as the night temps drop down lower. from what i understand the 4s compound vs. the super sport got a little update for colder weather and it shows. i drove in 30 degree temps with my old super sports and it was hockey puck like around 30-25 degrees ..lol.

I’ve found that these tires will warm up given a little bit of driving time and initial impressions might not tell the whole story. From a cold start at or near freezing, they are quite hard and spin quite easily. With a few miles, they seem to warm up fine for what SEEMS TO ME to be an acceptable level of safety. If you just try to make short trips at these temperatures, you’ll be left with a different impression than if you go for a longer drive.

That said, I nonetheless put all-season tires on my M240i.
