So my supra recently got hit wirh hail damage. The dents and other damages were fixed but for some reason my insurance didn’t cover the spoiler (maybe because it was aftermarket?). Anyways, do y’all think this spoiler can still be saved? I was thinking of sanding it down and coating it with clear epoxy resin.

It can be... but depending on the skill of the person it might not look the way it was before. If it's just the clear coat damage you could sand it down and respray it.

Unless thats some sort of weird image then that my friend is not real carbon fibre. You notice the clean break lines and the way it's chipped off with a clean sharp edge. Real CF never does that when it's been damaged as the carbon fibres always stick out and hold the broken resin. I've not only made lots of carbon pieces but repaired them as well. It's extremely hard if not impossible to do a visually undetectable repair to clear finished CF. Here's some motorcycle repair work I did not too long back. The previous owner had ground ot a key slot I wanted to fix. It's about as good a repair as you can do with unpainted carbon and fiddly to do.
I could have maybe got it a bit better from some angles with some more work but it's structurally sound and in a location that's pretty much hidden so I left it at that.

I figured it wasn’t real. But I was thinking of repairing it anyways. Would using epoxy resin work?

Yes you can probably just use Araldite with some black pigment in it or just touch it up with some black paint after. If it's somewhere that your eye isn't constantly drawn to then it should be fine.

It could be real. It's just clear coat that's damaged not the CF itself it looks like. it shows those lines and cracks because there's micro gap between clearcoats. hence I wonder if windshield repair kit could hide some of these cracks. I haven't tried since I did not have need for it so I don't know if it will work nor it will damage more..

I agree with Phil.

that does not look like CF, both from the fact that CF doesn’t evenly sheer along the weave, adding in that looks lik Fiberglas mat underneath. Doesn’t even look like fiberglass weave/cloth,, but crappy mat.

I’ve been racing for 30 years in fiberglass racers and CF

It may be a CF transfer with a resin coating. Not sure.

Curious. What's the make and model of that spoiler?
It’s from a website called Monaco Motorsports. I guess I got scammed. Been having it for 2 years now so maybe I’ll replace it in the future.
