Late to the party. Interested in one of these GTLabs covers. What kind of Airbag does it come with? Is it a 2 or 3 stage airbag? Is there any additional coding that has to be done if it's plug&play

You got lucky. I hadn’t checked this site in over a month, and the same day you replied I randomly hopped on to see what’s new lol.


As for the GTLab airbag cover, it comes empty, just the cover itself. You have to transfer the airbag from your car, which, honestly, wasn’t easy. You need to be really careful, and even then, the fitment wasn’t perfect. That said, I still think the airbag is functional despite the slightly off fitment. Most importantly, I didn’t get any error codes or have to reprogram anything.

This is what the car looks like rn, getting more carbon goodies soon.

I consider myself very lucky! Good to know thank you!!! I really want one of those G8x wheels so that makes it extra difficult since I'd probably have to source a BMW airbag... May give up that dream.

I believe some people on Facebook have custom steering wheels with custom airbags. I would look for those people since the cover comes with the airbag.
