A couple days ago I got a low coolant warning when starting my 2022 Supra 3.0. I looked in the manual and it said to use BMW LC 18 coolant.

When I looked in the reservoir the coolant looked green. I read on other posts here that said to use HT-12. I couldnt find any HT-12 or even LC-18 coolant at local Autozone or Oreilly that had either of those identifiers on the bottles. So I called the Toyota Dealer, they recommended the one below so I went and got it. I figured they'd know better than me...

As I understand from other posts here BMW started using green HT-12 after 2020. This stuff they gave me is blue!

LEFT (Yellow/Green): FROM ENGINE
RIGHT (Blue): BMW pictured above

The Yellow-ish sample was from the engine reservoir, but it looked green inside before I dipped the paper towel in. Im guessing Toyota sold me some old stock they had from a 2020 Supra? As I understand it, after 2020 BMW started using a green coolant?

This bottle was $48.. and I opened it..... Should I go to a BMW dealer or does anyone know which retail coolants are HT-12 at Autozone or Orielly?

Edit: I just noticed the sticker on the bottle says Sept 2025. Is Toyota buying the wrong coolant from BMW? They must be mixing this in when servicing these cars.

The green is colour is actory fill and the magenta is retail BMW coolant. They changed the retail coolant colour to match the factory fill some time ago. If you only need a few hundred ML for a one off top up then you can just use some plain deminerised water. The dilution % will be neither here nor there.

HT-12 is a coolant type, LC-18 is a BMW specification for which HT-12 must meet.

There’s also a Zerex branded HT-12 that may be a bit cheaper if you can find it locally.

I bought HT-12 (green) from my local Toyota parts counter and they gave me this BMW branded coolant with a very small Toyota sticker.
Next time I’ll just buy it straight from BMW (assuming they still carry it).

I bought the HT-12 from a BMW dealership. They should have it in stock.

Not a Corvette.
Just know you have to mix the HT-12. It's not pre-mixed. My turkey baster that helped me after realizing that can tell you a story. :)
