Low Fuel Indicator / Warning Lamp Not Working

Hey all,

Has anyone experienced an issue with the orange low fuel indicator not illuminating when hitting the fuel reserve?

The fuel level bars all work properly, as does the vehicle range indicator. When fuel level is low I do get a "fuel reserve" warning text message in the vehicle status / cluster display, BUT the orange/yellow fuel pump light doesn't illuminate. I confirmed the manual mentions this type of indicator and I think it is regulatory item in US market.

Honestly, I can't remember if the issue was pre or post tune (MHD+; Femto Unlock) or bimmercoding as the car is fairly new (2026) and tuned it pretty early on.

I tried going through the Bimmercode menus and there is a selection for fuel warning indicator 1, but it says "not active" and doesn't allow me to change anything. I tried resetting to original backup and still no luck.

Has anyone experienced this before?

I believe there’s a coding you can change when the light illuminates. Maybe set too low?

I checked it in bimmercode and it says “not active” and it won’t let me change it (just reverts back as soon as backing out of menu before being able to click “code”). I thought I read somewhere in the bimmercode manuals that it’s locked out for changes?

I was able to change mine to come on sooner than usual with BimmerCode. Mine is MY24 if that makes a difference
