do you think it will be shorter than the 86? About the same size, or just hair longer?

if we look back in time the MKIV Supra was about the same length as the Celica coupe. aside from length, all of the other dimensions do look pretty similar as well.

Supra
Length: 177.8 in

Height: 49.8 in

Celica Coupe
Length: 177.0 in
Wheelbase: 99.8 in
Width: 68.9 in
Height: 51.0 in

86
Length: 166.9 in
Wheelbase: 101.2 in
Width: 69.9 in
Height: 50.6 in

FT-1 from GT6
Length: 184.1 in
Wheelbase: 107.9 in
Width: 77.6 in
Height: 48.2 in

Hopefully not longer than 4,500 mm. Preferably 4,300 mm.

^we use inches in the US :p

so basically for you, around the 86 (166.9 in/4,240 mm) or smaller than the MKIV's (177.8 in/4,515 mm).

I'd be shocked if it was the same length as the 86. I just don't see that happening. I think it'll be at least as long as the MKIV, which I'd be OK with.

If this helps; here are the supposed spy shots (top) of the Z5 using a modified 2 series shell over the new platform.

177 inches is what we've been told by Toyota/Calty in so many words. If you reduce the size (volume) of the car by how much they said the concept was enlarged, you get roughly 177.1 inches.

This would tie in with the previous Supra, as well as being within an inch of other sportscars like the Dodge Viper, Porsche 911, etc.

The back seats will be miniscule and not contribute significantly to the overall length. It will in all likelihood be longer than the 86, but not by much.

i dont think we can treat that as an "official confirmation". it wouldn't be the 1st time an insider has provider incorrect info.
Most of the time that insider has been mistaken. He has always built up so much hype, that once the final products were revealed, most were disappointed although it would not have been that bad if the expectations were not increased.

I didn't realize the GT6 specs have it listed at 184 in. That's huge. Is that the full concept size?
i think so, it also matches up with the RC pretty well.

Lexus RC
Length:
184.8 in
Wheelbase: 107.5 in
Width: 72.4 in
Height: 54.9 in

Toyota FT1 (GT6)
Length:
184.1 in
Wheelbase: 107.9 in
Width: 77.6 in
Height: 48.2 in

Yikes! I sure hope not!
Keep the wheel base to no more than 100", or a touch less. Height to 45" Max!

Seriously? That's shorter than the FR-S which has a wheelbase of 101.2" and height of 50.6"

I sure hope so. FRS is a bargain basement toy! Not a supercar wannabe. FRS is not a good example to target. 911's and other agile sport cars used to have shorter wheel base than 100 inches (911's still managing to keep it under the 100" mark, but has been growing from the original sub 90 inch wheelbase dim) until they started to cater to comfort seeking audience. Most good cornering cars stick to the 100 inch wheel base as the max.

As for the height. Most Frs owners lower their car an inch or two, if it's going to be competitive for performance driving and/or track.

Ford GT is 44inches. Original Ford GT was 40 inches.

They should shoot for a height comparable to exotics. Not build another tall heavy weight like GTR.

Anyways that's my hope...
