New leather airbag cover installed.

I had already upgraded the steering wheel but wanted to complete the package with a leather wrapped airbag cover with oem colored stitching and a gloss black emblem. Love it!

Purchased via the GR Store.

looks great, how was the install? is it perforated to allow airbag deployment, or does it turn the airbag into a claymore?

The install was rather straight forward and installed by a bmw mechanic… I don’t foresee any issues.

I was also assured the cover was created from an oem part.

I think they do use oem core, but if the leather isn’t perforated, it won’t let the airbag cover “rip” in the event of deployment, and allow the airbag to deploy. the above pic shows the expected 3 way rip of the stock one

Love these, really improve the look, not cheap though.

I'd want to see proof they've been tested and perform in exactly the same way as the OEM cover. Do you know if the manufacturer can supply this?
