Honestly, I'm kinda glad they're not the instantly addicting purple crack that Hoosiers are usually. I remember the first time I drove a CSP Miata on A7s (loooooong time ago), and had a set for my Miata for the next autox. Knowing Hoosier, they WILL update the compound quickly when they get flood of bad feedback.

Allen is my hero. I'm curious what size he was running since his previous setup was square and much narrower than you would typically run on a C7 to comport with class rules.

Even more reviews coming in. There was a whole thread on a very track centric (multi-car) FB group with a lot of negative feedback. Unfortunately it was deleted by the powers that be.

If this is the Wilbur that I think it is...I've met him a couple of times at Summit Pt - good guy, nicely set up car, likely no axe to grind against Hoosier and not a Yoko fanboy. I think he had Nankangs on the car last time I saw it. Interesting data points.

Initial feedback from a couple people on these are not so favorable.

Grippy first day, hockey pucks the second day.

Allen’s vette turned into a drift machine with them…

To follow up, I regrettably I had a similar experience with these tires on my C7Z. For me they were pretty quick and consistent for 2 days / 8 sessions at VIR. As quick as same size SC3R which was encouraging. Last weekend I closed out my season at CMP and was excited to see how they compared since I have a lot of seat time with several different tires. First session it was very cold and the track was green but I was about 1 sec slower than I should have been. Each session they consistently got slower and slower to the point the car was almost undrivable. 3 seconds off pace and I had to fight for my life just to manage that..

They now have the dubious honor of being the worst bang for the buck tire I've ever ran. $2000 for 8 sessions at a decent pace and they still have a LOT of tread. Obviously will not be buying again.

Yup, trash tire. I find it hard to believe the testing engineers didn’t know this. Spoiler: I’m sure they did.
