Ordered a custum wheel from @NitroYellowMKV at the beginning of November. Arrived and installed yesterday. If anyone is in the market, I highly suggest working with him on your wheel purchas.

This thing makes the driving experience so much better, crazy how much more engaged you feel with a new wheel.

Install was pretty straight forward, lots of install videos out there. I had issues un-cliping the paddle shifters... F those things. Also if your replacing the airbag cover good luck... getting the bag removed was a pain, getting it seated in the new cover is a pain. I ended up using zip ties to strap the rubber tabs around the airbag to re install the plastic shroud.

What I ordered is basically the same but orange, but your color felt like it could be either

I have to strongly disagree. I regretted installing this wheel, but it’s not bad enough for me to go through uninstall.

The OEM wheel is too skinny, but this shape is not the way. Unless you’ve got homunculus hands, the thickness is a bit excessive. Again, not unbearable, but just too much. By comparison, F8X and G8X steering wheels strike a good balance.

The sharp edges at the 3 and 9 position are stupid for actual aggressive driving or drifting. The edges dig into your palms and the irregular shapes are not comfortable with a spinning wheel. Pretty stupid.

Also, the wheel is too wide where the controls are, there’s no handle or edge you can wrap your fingers around. So you’re forced to put your hand below it, or above it. With your hand above it, you’re holding the sharp edge in the crook of your thumb. You can get used to it, but there’s no other way to describe it but stupid. 100% form over function.

The leather is also pretty garbage. Even worse than the OEM. Slightly thicker but also very cheap feeling.

The main positive thing about this wheel is its aesthetics. I’m always surprised by the reviews saying it’s amazing. I’ve only met one other person who complained of the same poor ergonomics, but we can’t be the only ones.

Hard disagree. Especially if you taken into account that anything was better than the stock oem wheel, in every way tbf.

The thickness is what made the difference in overall driving experience for me, coupled with the flat bottom for entering vehicle and exiting aswell. Leather is also vastly better, in my experience ordering from Nitro. The bonus was the aesthetic.

Good to know the carbon fiber isnt even close to matching stock...also that airbag cover seems better suited for a base model with the Alcantara, looks out of place or like you did an airbag delete?? The hand positions at 3&9 o clock seem really aggressive, almost like you would stumble over them turning the wheel sharp? Dunno, looks out of place. Hope you like it

+1.
This is my new wheel and I think it's how a Supra steering wheel should look like:

this is a G8X retrofit wheel. Arguably the best wheel you can get for the Supra. Expensive though at $1400+. And adaptive cruise distance setting function may be disabled.
Laughs in base model

Yes! I love this wheel! Does your adaptive cruise control distance setting work? The US retailers selling these mention that it might not work on the new wheel.
Everything is working great on my car (mine is a MT so just basic CC) and the seller told me they managed the ACC as well, which means it's a 100% retrofit w/o any compromise.

Unfortunately you will not always be able to make every single person happy with a single product, everyone has their own opinion and is 100% entitled to it. when it comes to something this personal, even if the majority of a group likes a certain style or ergonomic layout, and in this case about 85% of my wheels go out with that cut and 99% of the time it is what people prefer. Of course it can be modified and changed as I have done for clients in the past again, or recently the g series conversions but those have their own unique set of challenges. In reference to the leather again something I am commonly told is a big upgrade over stock, but everyone will have their own sentiment at the end of the day. I always try my best to make sure everyone I work with leaves happy, but at the end of the day when you are in this industry you will learn very quickly that it is just not possible.
