Long story short I have a spare OEM hood that I want to hang on the wall in my living room. Has anyone tried this? If so, how? I am completely new to home improvement. Thanks!

From what I have found wood stud seems can hold up to 100lbs and OEM hood is just 35lbs so I guess this should be fine?

LOL, your dates are going to think you are something special the first time that they see your place!

True story: I sold a car to a friend of mine who later crashed and totalled it. Years later we were planning to go to an HPDE and I asked him to take my track tires (he was towing his race car, I was driving my street car) and he said sure, drop them off at his house. I'd not been there before, but his wife was home and she showed me where to put the tires in the garage.

Hey, I said, is that the bumper from my car? He had mounted the bumper from the car up on the wall of the garage. "Yes," she replied, "he has a part from every car that he's destroyed up there." Sure 'nuf, there were other hoods and bumpers on the wall. He is actually a good driver, I'm not sure why he keeps crashing. I guess that's what happens when you continually push the envelope.

Anyway...

A stud can hold a lot more than 100 lbs. if it's mounted correctly. You should use two studs to hold up the hood without worries, and two large bolts/screws with which to secure it. You don't want that thing falling on someone's head.

You will definitely need help, don't be afraid to ask a friend (or multiple friends) to assist you. Preferably someone who has experience doing stuff like this.

If you use multiple hooks it will distribute that 35lbs. I've mounted stuff over 50lbs on the wall so I don't see an issue given you use proper hardware.

Did you mount on stud or just use drywall anchor?

Great way to become or stay single.
LOL Indeed, I am trying really hard to convince my wife to let me put it in living room.

No but they are not perfect + I had my hood hit by my garage opener.
Dude…. Buy it before he hangs it, while working with Bryan on how fugly y’all can make it sound hanging up in his house.

And…. save the dumb shit you do in a Supra for me. No need to infringe on my reputation ?
