When I was installing a new turbo inlet pipe I noticed oil inside the OEM one around the surface of the baffle. There is no obvious external leaks where oil has gotten outside of the inlet pipe.

It is not easy to tell the source of this oil, but am wondering if the culprit is from the engine ventilation hose.. (which kinda makes sense to me)

Is the normal?

Yes, normal.

Add an AOS to your car and you'll solve this problem.

Relatively normal, coming from engine breather.
Could it also come from the turbo, or is that not possible as any oil would want to travel in the opposite direction? (i.e Air pushing it strait into engine)

I recently installed the MST V2 intake with the turbo inlet replacement and found a bit of oil in the stock inlet. My car is pretty new, about 500 miles on the clock when I replaced the intake

Agree with @zrk it's normalish (depending on the amount which is difficult to tell from the picture). I ran my car with an AOS for 5000 miles, was bone dry, but still had a very small amount of oil (coating) in the inlet pipe. That's not a pool of oil at the bottom, is it? That would not be normal.

EDIT: I have an AOS for sale.

Yeah, it is a small pool, but looks very similar in quantity to @B58_ hwAyaq picture where you can see the brown streaks of oil running down the inside of the pipe on his pic. I’m not seeing any smoke/smell of burning oil and there was no oil escaping out of the inlet seal into the engine compartment. Also, my oil level looks unchanged since it was serviced 800 miles ago.

I didn’t realise until now, but the breather pipe actually has a one way valve in it where it only opens going from the inlet into the engine. (I have a spare one sat here) So, in theory no oil should be coming out of this..? Maybe the one in the car doesn’t work that well?
