Hello all!
Currently have a parasitic source. My fuel pump is buzzing and when I unplug the relay, it stops. The trigger wire (pin 85) is routed towards the engine bay into the MOTIV reflex. The ground wire (pin 86) is connected to the negative battery terminal. I was told to take pin 85, tap it into the fuse box. Then take the pin 86 and tap it into the MOTIV reflex. I’ve driven this car 9000 miles for about a year no issue and then my battery died. I thought it was because I kept my ECUTEK dongle in and drained it but I replaced the battery yesterday and I started getting this buzzing sound from my fuel pump. Investigated and unplugged the relay and that’s the source. What I don’t understand is why is it wired this way and why did it just all of a sudden become a problem after a year? Wouldn’t this switched wiring caused a problem in the the first place? Is that everyone’s wiring set up?

relays go bad. test the relay. if relay checks out fine something else is energizing the relay to keep it on. gonna need a test light to test.
also why make a new thread? didnt you make one yesterday relating to this issue?

I’ll do a test and yes I did. Thought it would catch more attention. I’ll just bump and update the same thread if something comes up again. I appreciate the response!

Unfortunately I’ve done that before but I get no responses from the old thread. I think some people only look at the new threads tab or they see a bunch of replies and assumed it’s been taken care of šŸ˜•šŸ¤·šŸ»
