I can speak to zipper merges since i go through a couple on my commutes. I think that part of it is that people see a nice car and assume the driver cares enough about the car to back out of any forced merge or lane change. In terms of following distance, I feel that I haven't had any more tailgating than what I would experience in a "normal" car. Following distance may be a bit closer as mentioned.

One of the merges on my commute happens about half a mile after a stoplight so it's always fun when anyone tries to race you to the merge in their Accord.

People can see over you so they feel safer getting closer.

Same here. It gets annoying because someone might actually rear end us. I had a lifted Jeep JK with full armor metal bumpers and fenders before this so I never had to worry about someone hitting me or giving me door dings. Back to the coupe life though

Look at it like this. If your A90 gets totalled from somebody tailgating. You can just use the insurance money to get a 2021.

I thought I was the only one having this issue, I live in Roseville, Ca where the drivers act like they own the roads but can’t drive for shit. Very scary. I just stay safe and drive in the right lane as much as possible and stay out of everyone’s way, but I experience exactly what your talking about.
