Are we turning into Corvette parents like the Progressive Insurance commercial? :hmm:
I’m already there. I had the chrome wheels on my 2004 ZO6 and the car looked damn good with them. I have never understood the fascination with black wheels. I mean is the objective to make it look like the car doesn’t have wheels?

I’ve managed to collect three sets of of factory wheels and was anticipating at some point powder coating one of them some sort of a polished look but would definitely go this route instead if it’s not too costly. Would be great if someone who knows how this was done would share the details.

Typically before painting or powder coating shops will strip the wheel finish. They usually do it with a chemical bath, but I don't know the chemicals used. You need to be down to bare metal for powdercoating to work.

I can't comment on the exact chemical, But the process goes as follows- Fully strip wheels down to the bare metal, sand/ smooth any imperfections, then they polished by hand to a mirror shine, and then powder coated clear coat in the oven to keep it safe.
