I understand the center caps are 56mm. Does the wheel need to be removed to take the caps off? Thanks.

With a very thin plastic trim tool you can catch the edge of the cap to pop it out. Sometime you can also use a grocery store rewards card (stiff but flexible enough to curve). But in some cases you’ll likely have to pop it from the backside of the wheel.

I just used needle nose pliers, wrapped in a microfiber, and yank on the Toyota logo.

Just take the wheel off it takes 5 minute per wheel if you do not want to potentially damage anything on them. If you’re tossing the center caps in garbage then just yank away.
