So I just took delivery of a 2021 and found a issue with the passenger armrest. The white stitching was botched at the Factory along the right hand passenger leather armrest. Looking for a replacement all I can find is that you have to order tho while damn panel that is $5000 according to the parts diagram. But it’s on sale for about $1000.... Toyota is covering it under warranty but damn if you have to replace any part of the interior door trim you almost have to replace the whole interior of the door

Read the whole post -> They are covering it under warranty no problem cause Toyota is awesome. I’m just shocked you can’t get just the armrest by itself

Hmmm in all my cars, the armrest has been part of the door card. What cars did you have before?

Way too many, this Supra is my 15th car and I run an automotive custom shop that installs Katzkin leather interiors as well. A lot of cars have a detachable armrest so they can be repaired. Seeing as that is a high wear area. You could re-skin the leather armrest for a $100 bit then you would have to do both sides to match. It just doesn’t make sense to have a consumable surface of the car that gets handled and touched not be easily and cheaply replaceable
