Reviews are in for 2020 Supra MKV preproduction car

Given that we have had some insider information and reading the reviews with keeping that in mind... it seems that

A) car doesn’t handle as well as it was alluded to be..
B) it’s more a GT car than a hardcore track car
C) ok in terms of power.. meaning just enough. Nothing spectacular.. nothing slow.

In other words a MEH car.. hope I’m wrong.

Everyone said the car is a GT car. Not one review said it’s a hardcore sports car as it was stated to be by previous interviews with tada etc.

Everyone says the power is adequate .. nothing out of the world.

MT went ahead and said it felt slower and it needs some tweaks to be possibly as fast as a Z4.

Everyone review was MEH about the car and one review pretty much said they need to tweak it.. yes.. you are right

Only thing consistent to me were the brakes. The excitement was good and speed was mid 4 seconds, for a euro spec.

MT drove the USA version of the z4, which only makes it confusing for Toyota not to do the same

Sounds to me like they are aiming to make a livable daily car that can be tuned and modded to unlock its potential. I mean how different is that from the last Supra?

He said true sports car, not hardcore. A car can be a sports car while also being a GT, the mk4 is a great example of this.

They were actually comparing apples to oranges.

But they compared the 382hp US Z4 to the 335hp EU Supra.

sure but at the same time, no one has been able to confirm whether the Supra is getting the same HP as the Z4....I'm betting the Z4 gets the high HP variant B58 here while the Supra gets a lighter chassis which in their minds allow them to justify a weaker powerplant so that on paper BMW doesn't step on its own toes.. Conflict of interest was always going to be a major hurdle here...

That’s not what this was portrayed as previously. It was stated as if.. we don’t need rear seats .. we need a small core sports car and not a GT car as it previously was.
