Sorry, long. I had a big crack due to a thrown rock in July and scheduled WS replacement at local Safelite through Ins. no deductible. Switched out the cloned ECU to stock to avoid anything they plug in that could lock the ECU, or if they took it to dealer for calibrate. Safelite replaced windshield but when I arrived told me they couldn't calibrate the front camera and told me to take it to Toyota dealer and sign safety waivers. When starting the car, now 4 or 5 big warnings about inop systems appear on my console and HUD had dashes instead of lane change and speed info. Very noticeable. Dealer found blown camera fuse and inoperative camera. New camera arrived 3 months later and dealer replaced and calibrated fine. Put cloned ECU back in and everything fine. Dealer won't warranty the camera (6000 miles) and say it was damaged during WS replacement (which is true). Safelite is trying to say there were trouble codes in ECU when brought in so camera was inop when they got it (I know there was only the O2 code due to catless DP with stock ECU). They are also saying they never unplugged camera during WS replacement, which dealer says is not possible. Why would Safelite pull codes BEFORE windshield replacement, and if they found the camera inop at that time, why would they proceed with WS replacement? Any thoughts?

That’s crazy man! I just got mine replaced for the same reason through Safelite using my insurance like about a 2 months ago. They came to my house and did everything there took them about 2 hours and took it for a drive around the block to calibrate it. Haven’t had an issue or any CEL come up and everything works as it should.

I’d talk to my insurance and explain to them that Safelite fuck my shit up.

Worst was when Toyota dealer looked for a camera, none were in the US and none on the way. I had to open a Toyota cust complaint to get some action. Ins. knows and is looking for inconsistencies in the Safelite mgrs. lies to get Safelite to cover it with their installation warranty.
I'm wondering why Safelite would hook an OBD scanner up before they replaced the windshield as they said they did. What are they looking for, and what will they do about it?
