Just an FYI. If you want to wrap it, you need to fix this before wrapping it. - not just touchup, full sanding/repaint. Wrap is so thin that if you wrap over the surface with paint chip, it will emboss and further more, it will have more chance to trap air/moisture that will ruin the wrap and make it look worse.

As someone that worked in the paint and body industry, that 600$ quote was just to paint the bumper, that 1900$ quote was to do it "properly" by blending in with the rear 1/4 panels. that will be the way that is the least noticeable. These "tri-coat" white paints are extremely hard to match. Base coat off a little or the top coat off a little you will notice. ESPECIALLY since you yourself will know where it was at, most others would only notice if they were really really looking.

Me myself, id touch it up best I could, lay some clear over it and wet sand it as smooth as I could then polish it, then call it a day. But things like that don't bother me, they are cars, chips, scrapes, small dents don't matter to me, even if it is a Supra lol

Hmmm, when I search for new bumper OEM cover it comes up around $200.

Is this unpainted from ordering it? Cause if it's just $200 to replace might as well get a new one. :p

But again, I'm sure these come unpainted, right?

Any update on what you did? I have a chip in a similar area on my absolute white and I purchased Toyota D01 Touchup paint as well as BMW mineral white met. touch up paint and they both don't match the oem paint on my car

Like others have said correct way is to paint the entire bumper and blend into panels. However it will never look same as oem and would only be noticeable if you pointed it out. Spraying only the bumper will make it more noticeable. But once again the average person wouldn’t notice unless you pointed it out. If it was my car I would fix it the correct way.

Can someone explain why it’s so hard to paint match an entire panel? I thought if you use the specific paint supplied to the factory that would be fine. Is it related to the age and exposure of elements to the rest of the body?
I was in the same situation. There are over a dozen different paint variances for the tri coat white. My body shop brought out the test cards and held a few of them up against the paint.
