Wanted to see if anyone else has noticed dealer discounts on new GR Supra allocations.

As previously discussed on this forum, Hawai’i dealers are definitively having trouble moving their Supras and $1,500 to $5,000 discounts are common. If the process to buy and ship from HI wasn’t so complicated, I would’ve done this.

This most recent round of allocations, I have noticed dealership discounts $1,500 on several cars. These are allocations, not cars that have been collecting dust on the lots. Admittedly, discounted allocations are AT. What’s the deal? Is there something happening such as a significant change for 2025 or just anticipated drop in interest as we approach the end of summer (expected delivery times into October)?

I work at a Toyota plant. We still aren't getting a single penny of a discount. We get them at dealer cost, which makes them cheaper overall, but no other discounts. When I bought mine, I got an additional $1200 off our main discount. That was 3 years ago. Literally got it two months before they stopped discounts.l, haven't seen any discounts since

Last November the local dealership had a white Anniversary auto and called me as I was on the list. Unfortunately it was right after a snow storm and the roads were still not fully cleaned. I did test drive the car but I could not really push it with the way the roads were.
Anyways if I complete the purchase and took it home by the next day they were going to give me $5k off MSRP.

You missed a golden opportunity with that deal. I bought mine sight unseen to jump on a really good and have been more than pleased after 3 years.

Interest rates are at 22 year highs. Jobless claims have been starting to slowly creep up and the unemployment rate finally hit 4% since early covid. There aren’t a lot of people throwing caution to the wind with these payments right now which means less buyers.

Agree. I think we will definitely be seeing Supras sitting on the lots this winter. It will not be like previous years when all Supras were sold before hitting the dealership lot.

Agreed with all above yet go to the mall (south Florida) and there’s a line around the block to get inside Gucci stores. interest rates this high, rent, unemployment yet you can’t get seared at nice Restraunt because it’s packed.
As long as people have a job to pay minimal payments, prices for everything isn’t dropping. In case of Supra, this isn’t a Camry, very nich market. Wealthy and broke people who want a Supra that can afford the Supra over 8 years will buy one Regardless of interest rates. Most who financed over 8 years are dumb enough to only look at orginal purchase price, not overall after purchased price After interest.

There are no advertised discounts on the toyota.com website. There are some MSRP listings, including a manual or two. (in Southern Cali)

We will see MKVs “not sitting” next year once the FED has already cut rates a couple times and being the rumored last year of production. Right now either you have good disposable income or a good trade in towards the car to offset the high interest rate. I’ve been in finance for 17 years so I follow the FED and the economy closely. Inflation has been trending down, but it takes time.

I’m from the Toronto, Canada area and ordered a 3.0MT at MSRP. Waiting for it to show up. Dealer said late August.

Check this Reddit thread. Others are also seeing discounted prices on the GR Supra AT.
