Stock Suspension, 19"x11" rear, would you run a 305/35 or a 305/30

I know both are different than stock, the 30 is closer but on stock suspension? Or is the real answer to go with a 295/35? Most likely looking at the Continental EXTREMECONTACT SPORT 02 if that matters. I am afraid that the sidewall on the 305/30 would look too small and make the rear look even higher, where videos of the 305/35 look awesome!

305/30 is shorter than stock and looks like crap especially if you also go to like a 275 in front.

I have 275/35 (my stock rears) going up front and 305/35 going on my car on Friday.

wheels are Advan GT Premium and car is lowered on MSS height adjustable

Please post pictures! The 305/35 usually look so meaty!

I would run and do run 305/30 on an 11. It's the ideal tire size.
Any pictures? Asking since sometimes the 305/30 looks ‘short’

I have wheels that should arrive in the next couple weeks, and the manufacturer, Variant, suggested 265/35 R19 for a 19x10 front wheel and 305/30 R19 for a 19x11 rear wheel.

I’ve seen this tire setup on @Spiguyver Supra YouTube video when he installed Titan TS-5s and think it looks spot on, albeit he’s lowered on Eibachs.

I’ll try to remember to post pics of my setup here once it’s installed 👍🏽

Please do! The 305/30 seems great on a lowered car. Debating staying at stock height and wonder if the 305/35 looks better.

I am running BC Forged RZ05 with PS4S
Front 19X9.5 +22 - 275/35/19
Rear 19X11 +35 - 305/30/19

From my delusional experience, the wider the tire the fatter the side wall, if all other aspects remain unchanged, not sure why or how. For example, to me, the front tire running 35 and the rear tire running 30 looks just about the same thicc'ness.

I am currently back on stock suspension as the coilover rebuild needs 4 weeks due to parts shortage.

Photos attached for reference.

Thank you for the photo, that sidewall is so thin and I think exactly why I want to avoid that size. Even lowered you have some gap in the front, my car would look silly on stock suspension.

The reason the front tire running 35 and the rear tire running 30 looks just about the same thickness is because they are just about the same thickness!

The second number (yy) in a tire size xxx/yyR19 is called the sidewall aspect ratio. It is a percentage of the tire width. So with a 275mm wide tire, with an aspect ratio of 35 will have the sidewall height of 35% of the tires width (hence the 35 as the yy number). Math below.

275mm = 10.827 in.
275mm x 0.35 = 96.25mm
96.25mm = 3.789 in

Your 305 mm wide rear tires sidewall height is 30% of the width. Math below.

305mm = 12.008 in.
305mm x 0.30 = 91.5mm
91.5mm = 3.602 in

So, your front tires sidewall height is 3.789 inches and the rear sidewall height is 3.602 inches which is just 19 hundreths of an inch different. Visually, there is no difference.

A wider tire doesn't always mean a fatter sidewall. It all depends on that yy number. The sidewall aspect ratio. Below is an example of 3 different tires with different sidewall aspect ratios-- 30, 35 and 75

A 305/30R19 has a sidewall height of 3.602 inches as shown above.
A 305/35R19 has a sidewall height of 4.202 inches.
A narrower tire such as a 285/75R17 has a sidewall height of 8.415 inches.

Hope this helps!
