Forgive my ignorance on this subject, but I’m looking for some knowledge and insight from those who actually know their stuff.

I think I just blew my diff but I’m not sure. I was on my way home from my buddy’s house and went to put my foot into the car coming off from a stoplight in 2nd gear. As soon as it started to make power, I heard a loud bang from the drivetrain that sounded like I hit a boulder on the highway or something.

The car still runs fine and still drives, the trans seems to still cycle through all of the gears just fine, no transmission error codes when I scanned the TCU with xHP, nothing noteworthy when I scanned the DME for codes with MHD.

Axles appear to be intact and I don’t see any grease anywhere under the rear end of the car, nor do I hear any axles flopping around or anything like that. I do, however, hear a metal on metal screeching sound intermittently that was not present before.

I was able to limp it home because it was only a few miles, but when I go any more than like 25% throttle, the RPMs go up and the car doesn’t go faster, like something is slipping.

As is with all forum responses we can’t truly know unless you take it to get looked at. It sucks but I hope whatever the issue it’s simple and not expensive
