New here and looking to see if anyone is interesting in a TOTD meet up. If you haven’t been before, it (and surrounding roads) are some of the best driving available in the country. I’m about 2 hours away and used to meet forum groups there all the time when I had other cars.

If you’re interested, post up. Let’s find a good weekend this spring that works for some guys and get a tradition going. I’d have a professional photographer come as well to get some great pics of the crew. Fantastic way to justify quick tire replacement!

Too far away to come. Used to live on the south side of the river out from K-ville.
I used to drive 129 quite often in the 90's in a Miata.

You had it made. Miata is hard to beat up there. I’ve seen some really incredible drivers leave super cars in the dust with them in that environment.
If you ever did get the chance make it down, let me know.

I driven the Dragon probably 75+ time, but never in a Supra (mostly in a Chevy truck doing stream research). I suggested a trip for mid-Atlantic folks. I’d be interested in what you come up with.

Good to see you’re close and have experience. There are plenty of great places to drive around it as well. At least this makes two!

I just hope I reach the break-in mileage mark by the time this happens.

I’m thinking May. We’ll find a weekend that other certain forums groups haven’t claimed. Seems like everyone has their “week”... the Z cars, corvettes, Porsche, etc.

It’s incredible.. but exhausting. You won’t want to do it more than 3-4 times in a day. The surrounding roads are really great too and I almost prefer them. The speed limit on the dragon is 25mph and if you can actually do 25mph around some of those corners you’re nuts.

The roads around the Joyce Kilmer - Slick rock wilderness area are also great and even more scenic.

That’s what I’m talking about. Where are you based if you don’t mind me asking? I have only seen one other mk5 here in SC so far.
I'm in the Hickory, NC area. I've been to the dragon 2 times over last 12 years in a couple of Evos I've had. Evo is the perfect car for the dragon. Supra should do well too. April or Early May would be a great time to visit that area.

Some time the most exciting part are the cycles coming the other direction.
