Wholy shit.

I have a VIN and boat name. Shit is actual real.

Someone else from this group had theirs built pretty much the same time as me. It's on the Morning Peace (didn't stop for... Heat Treatment 🤔)

Docking dates;

Perth: 16 July
Melbourne: 28 July
Brisbane: 1 August (me)

The excitement instantly took over the frustrations.

Have you guys got your cars back yet?

Pics once their back would be awesome fellas :D

Super keen to see your plates mounted and red Supra badge too.
Hey mate not yet.

He's asked to keep it over the weekend as he's done a lot of "one piece" installation and wants to make sure everything has grabbed properly.

So Monday after work I'll pick it up.

I'll definitely share some pics.

Got mine back Friday but working on rebadging and some other cosmetic stuff.. I haven't even fitted the plates yet. 😅

I'll be sure to post some pics once the weather clears up.

Just placed an order on Friday, ETA 4-6 months.

Asked to make sure it was a 2024 as I'm quietly hoping they've made some sort of refinements.

45th anniversary annoucement wasn't what most of us were hoping for I bet.

Your car must already be built with a stock number prior to you doing paperwork. Because many of us have build/built dates 3-4 months prior to boat arrival.

Realistic time frame - Expect it to be 9-12 months if it's a new build order. If it isn't a new order (ie: has a stock number and/or planned production month prior to you ordering) then 4-8 months sounds right.

None the less, I do hope you get it sooner rather than later!! Welcome mate.

Cheers!

Fingers crossed for anything under 8 months, been way too long since I was driving around in my A80.

Can anyone comment on how the nav system behaves? I'm an android peasant and want to see if I can get away with the stock system for the times I do need it.

I've been looking at everything for this too.

I saw a dongle that converts AA to CarPlay... doesn't work with BMW.

I thought about buying an iPhone, but then would require a sim.

The only option we have is that bimmertech headunit MMI. That's literally it :'(

So I've given up and I'm thinking about buying a phone holder, but unsure if those amazon or ebay holders will fit in the Supra air vents.

I'm an android peasant as well, and also old, so new tech is confusing and frightening. The stock Nav system works a treat, I have no issues with it at all.

I've found it intuitive and easy to use, and the guidance is pretty solid. Far better then the current Toyota system that's for sure.

Yea I'll stay away from the MMI I think, android auto can be temperamental at the best of times. Good to hear the stock nav functions well, problem solved.

Time to scour the internet for parts I can order to keep the wait interesting. List so far (boring):
  • Tint
  • Enkei GTC02
  • Ceramic coating & detailing gear
  • OBD2 adapter for bimmercode
  • Tow hook numberplate mount
Any must haves you guys have bought? Noting a HKS T51R is not a suggestion I'm willing to accommodate

Looks awesome Scuba!
Love that red badge, I have the same colour which the black interior goes well with I think but that cognac leather looks very flash.
