Thoughts of the SSC Tuatara new speed record @ 282.9 MPH

What are your guys thoughts on the SSC Tuatara now getting a new record for fastest production supercar? Data has been confirmed this time and its an impressive feat but i feel like they shot themselves in the the foot with that stunt where they tried to claim a 316 mph average.

Shame, I would have totally bought one if it was 300+mph.

Lol, there were discrepancies with the data, camera sync and their claims, but wouldn't call a 282mph achievement shooting themselves in the foot. Based on https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Production_car_speed_record, they're the current fastest.
Who buys their cars and are their sales affected by 316 vs 282.

no. i am not saying this attempt shoots them in the foot for the future. I used poor wording. let me clarify.

I meant it took some of the excitement out of this announcement for me because they had everything happened around the 316 mph runs.
