Anyone running catted downpipe and tune passing MOT Legitimately?

As long a no "engine light" you should be ok .... i always warm up car and run a tank of V-Power for the MOT.... but most Sport Cats eventually fail MOT prematurely as they become more inefficient. Luckily its a 30 min job to swap it back to stock on the Supra.

No cat should fail and even with a sports cat, it will depend on if it's warmed up correctly and even then might still fail if the car is tuned.

A legitimate MOT place might also refuse to pass it if it thinks you've swapped the CAT back on just to pass the test.

I had all these problems with my previous WRX STI and so I'm happy to play it safe with my cars now and only go cat back for any exhausts.

Of course if you can find a friendly garage that will happily wave the test through then anything is possible.

You should pass unless the map is proper sh*t..

With a sports cat it is important to get it proper hot before testing!

Good info. Also didn't realise you can get a AA catted downpipe that bolts up to our GPF filters. Thought they were only for the US market. Would be great not to have to worry about emissions light.

That’s a good point. They are US market only. I had a garage called Browns garage in Haywards Heath adapt it. They are highly skilled and said shouldn’t be an issue for them and they came through and sorted it and fitted perfectly for me.
