Hi all, just seeing if anyone has had any particularly good experience with finding an insurer for their supra.
In the past I’ve used a mix of “specialists” and just a price comparison site. I noticed when I bought my FK8 some specialists wouldn’t insure anything at that value and obviously the supra is a step up again.
Generally no complaints with just using a price comparison site but then I think I’m going to want to throw on some springs and spacers and at that point I know it can be a headache with some insurers.
Anyone here that’s done some of these mods found a good company?
Thanks!

I’m with Aviva, though I’m in a rural area which will undoubtedly have a lot of influence on the cover.

Thanks. Any issues declaring mods or are you yet to get around to that? 😆

Also Aviva, always been decent with mods in the past, better to ring them though to add them rather than doing it through the site. Admiral were good in the past too. I always check comparison sites at renewal and then call in to see if they'll match the best offer though. Probably won't have as much luck with that now that regulations have stopped the new customer offers.

So long as they'll accept mods and they have decent reviews from people who've actually claimed on places like trustpilot etc, I don't really have any loyalty to any particular company for insurance. I avoid more "specialist" insurers as I suspect with their lower volumes of customers they're likely to be tighter about paying out.

I renewed on my mustang in Jan with Ford insure which I think are apart of admiral they're really good with mods (mustang had exhaust, loweing springs and sway bars) barely any extra and not too much extra for the supra I think it added £30 to the premium and I pay something like £550

34, 14years ncb, no convictions, 8000miles

I'm with Admiral multi car and they're great for insuring more than one car, they're also very proactive regarding Green cards for those of us in NI who may need to use them more often for trips to the south of Ireland.
Gap insurance is with Toyota as I got them down to £300 for 3 years.

Admiral, no mods, but £200 less for the Supra than for my prior 2.0 diesel A6.

Actually, I've just realised this is the cheapest my insurance has ever been.

Being an old bugger FTW!!! 🤣
I’m speaking for myself just to be clear. I’m 38 in August but it’s one of the perks of being what I call “old” (at least my 12 year old daughter thinks I’m ancient) but yeah I remember the times when it was dearer to insure a car for a year than it was to buy the damned car!!

Wait until you get to 49! On the positive side my quote is £320 with protected no claims with Aviva. I had my last accident not my fault when I was 22! So 27 years ncb although I think companies just say 9 years 🤔

That’s an excellent price. I got it to around £450 with my wife on who only has about 3 years ncb as she’s not had her own insurance policy for that long (always used to be named driver on my policy while we shared a car) so probably a small factor.
Still happy with that

Admiral here. Was suprised how not so bad it was, living in Central London especially so. Think it was about 580 a year

Looking to buy
I'm with sterling.

Adding a tune, springs, intake and exhaust was only an additional £60
