@archsteve are you doing both days? The weather looks sketchy for Saturday. A lot of guys will say drive in the rain, it makes you a better driver. While that may be true, imo it’s not fun especially for your first time out. Sunday’s weather looks promising so I can understand if you choose to drive on Sunday onIy which is what I plan on doing.
Right now the plan is Friday (today) only. When I signed up, one day seemed plenty for someone who a few months ago stated I'll probably never put this car on the track LOL I'll see how the first sessions go today, and then see what options are available for Sunday. Appreciate the advice

Today ?…. That’s fantastic!!!!!

When my work gets too hairy today, I‘ll think of you having way more fun than me, lol. Don’t forget full braking in a straight line (before hitting ABS) is just as fun as full pedal to the metal throttle/ acceleration. Do both of them…. LOTS!! Have fun amigo ?

The front straight is fast not sure if you’re on stock pads but plan on braking around the 3 depending on speed. You should see 120-130+mph. If you don’t think you can make turn 1, don’t panic. There‘s a run off at end of the straight where you can keep straight and regather yourself You’re gonna to have a blast man!! Almost forgot, check your tire pressure!!

My friends are instructing Saturday/Sunday and running TT5 if you decide to come back out. I will be in DE 4.

My first time was at Thunderhill. There’s a turn that’s a sharp 90 and my instructor was like BRAKE BRAKE. Well I didn’t brake enough and went off into to grass. He’s like - you okay - and I’m like. Yea. Let’s get back on the track. Had to stop at the pit and explain and was an example in the after meeting. But I guess the point is pay attention to the instructor and don’t freak out and it’s okay to be an example of what not to do.

Multiple times my instructor had to tell me BRAKE BRAKE and TURN TURN. Luckily I was going slow enough to not go off, but at one point I thought my instructor was about to grab my wheel and turn the car from the passenger seat himself lol.

@archsteve how was it today?
today was great I'll try to write a more comprehensive review tomorrow (Family obligations tonight) but it was a really good event in my opinion, great people/volunteers, perfect weather and I had a wonderfully educational/stressful/exciting time LOL

To everyone interested and who provided thoughtful advice and tips on this thread, I just added a new thread called "FIRST TRACK DAY thoughts" to try to memorialize the experience. Thanks again to everyone.
