Hey SupraMKV family! ? We’re excited to introduce the Powertex Group 94R Lithium Car Battery, tailored specifically for the Toyota Supra. If you’re looking to maximize your Supra’s performance, reliability, and efficiency, this battery is the perfect upgrade.

Why Choose the Group 94R Lithium Car Battery for Your Supra?

We know that Supra owners demand the best, so we designed the Powertex Group 94R Lithium Battery with features that make a real impact:

  • Lightweight Advantage: This lithium car battery is 30 pounds lighter than a conventional lead-acid battery, reducing overall weight for better handling, agility, and performance—ideal for track days or weekend drives.
  • Battery Performance Data:
    • Power Consistency: Lithium technology provides a steady voltage output until nearly fully discharged, unlike lead-acid batteries, which helps with consistent power for performance mods and track usage.
    • Extended Lifespan: Lithium batteries last longer than lead-acid batteries, offering more charge cycles, less frequent replacements, and minimal maintenance.
  • Built-In Jump Start Capability: Never worry about getting stranded. This Group 94R battery has built-in jump-starting power for peace of mind on long trips or spirited drives.
  • Low Voltage Protection: Equipped with an advanced Battery Management System (BMS), our lithium car battery has low voltage protection to prevent deep discharge, prolonging its lifespan and protecting your investment.
  • Bluetooth Monitoring (App Coming Soon!): Our upcoming app will allow you to monitor your battery’s health, charge levels, and more—all from your phone!

Interested in this battery, do you have to register and reprogram the battery to the vehicle? If so, what settings should e used?

Thanks for your interest in our Powertex battery for the Toyota Supra!

For many modern vehicles, including the Supra, it’s recommended to register a new battery to ensure optimal performance and integration with the car's Battery Management System (BMS). Registering allows the vehicle to recognize the new battery, which can help maintain battery performance and lifespan. While this step isn’t mandatory, it can extend the life and performance of the battery. However, we typically see only about 40% of vehicle owners go through this process, and they still report great battery life and performance.

Since our battery is a LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate), here are some recommended programming settings for the car’s BMS:
  1. Battery Type: If the option is available, select lithium or LiFePO4. If not, use the AGM setting, as it has similar charging characteristics.
  2. Charging Voltage: LiFePO4 batteries perform best with a charging voltage of 14.2-14.8 volts, so check that the vehicle’s charging system aligns with this range to prevent overcharging.
  3. Capacity Setting: Match the amp-hour (Ah) capacity of the LiFePO4 battery to the vehicle’s settings. For example, if it’s a 50Ah battery, set it to 50Ah.
  4. State of Charge (SoC) Adjustment: If possible, calibrate the SoC to account for the flatter charge curve of lithium batteries, especially at higher charge levels.
These adjustments allow the car’s system to manage the LiFePO4 battery effectively. If you need further details on installation or purchasing, feel free to reach out!

So you have to remove the bracket to press the button?

At this time, yes, you’ll need to press the jump start button to activate that feature. However, our Bluetooth app is launching very soon, allowing you to control it directly from your phone without needing to press the physical button. All batteries are currently shipping with Bluetooth built in; we're just awaiting the app's release on Apple and Android.

So the car could be started from the phone? Might be a dumb question but will there be blowback if I jump start the car every time? If I keep jump starting it from my phone for exmaple. The reason I ask this is because in the UAE we dont have a supra connect app. So this will be the next best thing.

Feel free to ask any questions—there’s no such thing as a dumb question!

Regularly needing to jump-start your car usually means the battery is dropping to around 11V, causing the Battery Management System (BMS) to activate and protect the battery from over-discharging. If this happens often, it can damage the battery cells, reducing their capacity over time.

Our batteries have a very low self-discharge rate of about 1-2% per month. However, modern vehicles have parasitic drains due to built-in electronics, so if the car isn’t driven regularly, the battery may drain faster. We recommend using a battery tender with quick-connect leads to keep it charged if the car won’t be driven for extended periods. The jump-start feature is intended for occasional incidents, like when lights are left on or a door left open, or if the car sits unused for a long time unexpectedly. Regularly letting the battery reach low voltage cutoff isn’t advisable, as it will harm the cells over time.
