I just noticed that after installing an aftermarket intake, downpipe and exhaust, my car now idles 250-500 rpm's lower than when it was stock. Stock it idled at between 1,000 and 1,250 rpm. Now it idles at around 500-750 rpm. I've never had performance modifications installed on any of my vehicles before...is this normal? I'm assuming it has to do with a change in the air & fuel ratio/something to do with the new intake?

Just for info, I have a 2023 3.0 MT and am at roughly 5,300 ft. elevation on a 60 degree day.

Target engine speed at normal operating temperature is 660 rpm.

You probably were not at operating temp before.

That's a cool table! So if im reading this correctly, on the x axis, is coolant temp in celsius with 40-90 deg C being optimal and y axis is oil temp in celsius with 30-90 deg C being optimal?

Normal operating temp above 60f ambient at idle for coolant is 203f (95c) and oil is 221f (105c)

Facts: Idle speed is completely dependent on the weight of oil you’re using, and whether or not you properly followed the engine break-in procedure.
Don't you know you're not supposed to mention oil on this forum 🤣 or break in period 🤣

I actually did follow the 1,200 mile break in though and did an oil change at 1,600 miles and am using the factory recommended weight that is in the manual 🤷🏽‍♂️

I know. I can’t resist trolling lately. Once the weather warms up and I can get back to autox and HPDE I’ll stop menacing this community. 🍻
