Windscreen Pitted

Hi All,
Just enquiring if anybody else out there has experienced a problem with their windscreen when driving into the sun?
My 2019/20 Supra GTS feels like the whole screen has been sand blasted whenever I drive into the sun.
I think I read somewhere that cheaper glass used might be too soft?
Have raised it with Toyota now that mine is in for service and they so far claim to know nothing about it.
I bought my car with just 7,500km on the clock and it is now just touching 11,000km.
I can’t see how a windscreen can become like this on such a new car with very low mileage.
The paintwork is all fine.
oping somebody can shed some light on the situation please?

Yes it’s soft. I’m on my fourth windshield in under 15k miles.

I'd love to have the laminate protective film put on my front windshield to prevent such rash but it's costly as well. I was quoted $700.

Based on what I read on here previously I opted for the free windscreen replacement as part of my car insurance. Having said this, I've driven around 4,000km and so far, no issues.

The car warranty? Not at all, it's a wear and tear item.

Most insurance companies in the USA have windshield replacement coverage as it's a state law or something. That said, they have limits of how many replacements a year. First two were covered for me, others I payed out of pocket.

Also keep in mind the car has seen over 40 track days, which are hell on the windshield.

No. I used my insurance once but I was told it counts against you in the state of Georgia. We don't get 1 replacement per yr like Florida.
