Toyota Press Release

TOYOTA EXTENDS THE GR SUPRA RANGE WITH EXCLUSIVE NEW JARAMA RACETRACK EDITION
  • Special edition version of Toyota’s GR Supra coupe, limited to just 30 cars in the UK
  • Horizon Blue paintwork, matt black 19-inch forged alloy wheels and black Alcantara cabin upholstery with blue stitching
  • Each model fitted with carbon fibre dashboard insert bearing its production number and outline map of the Jarama race circuit
  • GR Supra is a sports car in its purest form, with a classic front engine/rear-wheel drive combination
  • Straight-six turbocharged 3.0-litre engine produces 335bhp and 500Nm torque, enabling 0-62mph in 4.3 seconds
  • Performance-focused chassis with “golden ratio” track and wheelbase proportions for optimum handling agility and control
  • Pricing and ordering information to be announced later in 2021

Taking its name from the famous Spanish circuit where the GR Supra was first driven by the world’s media – to great acclaim – the Jarama Racetrack Edition is powered by the model’s original, 335bhp 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six unit. Its special Toyota “GR” designation denotes the direct involvement of Toyota Gazoo Racing the car’s development.

It is visually distinguished by a unique Horizon Blue paintwork, contrasting with a matt black finish for the 19-inch forged alloy wheels and visible red-painted brake callipers. In the cabin the car’s special status is signified by a carbon fibre dashboard insert specifying its number in the European production run and featuring an outline map of the Jarama circuit, plus the Toyota GR Supra logo. The interior is upholstered in black Alcantara with blue stitching and the seats are power-adjustable and have a memory setting and integrated heating.

The sports performance and handling are every bit as rewarding as the regular GR Supra, founded on the car’s finely balanced chassis and the ideal “golden ratio” between the wide track and short wheelbase. A low centre of gravity, a lightweight and highly rigid body and aerodynamically efficient styling all add to the car’s agility and stability. These qualities are optimised by performance-enhancing features including adaptive variable suspension (with Normal and Sport settings), active differential, sports-tuned steering and powerful Brembo sports brakes with four-pot aluminium front callipers and 348mm ventilated front discs.

The turbo engine is matched to a rapid-shift eight-speed sports automatic transmission. When using the car’s launch control system, 0-62mph acceleration takes just 4.3 seconds. The driving experience is made all the more engaging by the peak 500Nm of torque being delivered all the way from 1.600 to 4,500rpm.

The equipment specification for the Jarama Racetrack Edition includes satellite navigation with 3D-mapping, smartphone integration (via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), Supra Connect access to connected services and a 10-speaker audio system. Multimedia functions are controlled using an 8.8-inch TFT touchscreen, or (for certain functions) voice recognition.

The Supra Safety+ Package provides a comprehensive range of active safety features, including a Pre-Collision System with a pedestrian detection function and the ability to recognise cyclists during daytime driving; Lane Departure Alert with steering assist; Adaptive Cruise Control with stop-and-go function; Adaptive High-beam System; Adaptive Front-light System, which adjust the headlight illumination in line with the car’s steering angle; and Road Sign Assist.

Pricing and ordering information for the new model will be announced later in 2021.

i hope this isnt a preview of changes for the US model. like "yearly improvements" really means limited color choices.

Wait, so it's essentially a slower ("When using the car’s launch control system, 0-62mph acceleration takes just 4.3 seconds.") A91 sans stripes?

Yeah Europe still gets the 335 horsepower engine. And 0-62 takes a tiny bit longer obviously than 0-60.

Looks so different without the stripes and the wing. Seats are different too.

IMO, looks way better without the tacky vinyl stripes. A lot cleaner

Toyota GR Supra Jarama Racetrack Edition Will Carve Corners For Europe

Production is limited to just 90 cars.

When the reborn Toyota Supra finally launched after years of development, the first-drive event for media took place at Circuito del Jarama. Located just north of Madrid, the Spanish track is a technical 2.4-mile course with 14 turns. It's the basis for a new special-edition Supra appropriately named the Jarama Racetrack Edition, available only to buyers in Europe and offered in extremely limited numbers.

Specifically, Toyota will build 90 all total. The automaker doesn't offer a complete breakdown of production numbers by country, but the UK will only have 30 available. The Jarama Racetrack Edition pumps up the Supra's appearance with a special exterior coat of Horizon Blue paint, complemented with black 19-inch wheels and red brake calipers behind them.

Interior upgrades include black Alcantara upholstery with contrasting blue stitching that matches the exterior. Carbon fiber dash trim also sets the special edition apart from the pack, with individualized production numbers and a silhouette of Jarama visible on the inserts.

There are some cool tech features for the Jarama Racetrack Supra. It gets a GPS system with 3D mapping, and it's fitted with Supra Connect access for connected services. It also features the Supra Safety+ package of driver-assist and safety systems, including adaptive cruise and front lighting, lane-departure warning, and pedestrian detection, among others.

The special edition is only offered on the six-cylinder Supra. In Europe, that means the boosted 3.0-liter I6 generates 335 horsepower (250 kilowatts) versus the 382 hp (285 kW) available in the States. As with all Supras, power goes rearward through an eight-speed automatic. There isn't yet any word on cost for the Jarama Racetrack edition, but it's expected to be available later in the spring and pricing will be announced by then.

Before I got the car, I was going to take them off, but I've grown to like them. Breaks it up. And it matches with the wheels and spoiler.
I definitely wouldn’t take them off if it’s already there. lol if it’s on there leave it Oem lol

Toyota GR Supra Jarama Edition Arrives With Fancy Blue Paint And 90-Unit Production Limit

The 'A90' Supra has spawned a (very) limited-run special celebrating the location of the original media launch

It’s our hope that at some point there’ll be an extra-special, more hardcore version of the GR Supra. The sports car already proven itself to be a great platform for mods, so we’ve no doubt that a little in-house fettling would do the ‘A90’ wonders.

This isn’t such a car, but don’t let that put you off. It’s a limited-run version of the 3.0-litre Supra, dubbed the Jarama Racetrack Edition. It’s the second GR Supra to be named after a track (the first being the 2.0-litre Fuji Edition), and it’s intended to honour the Spanish circuit used for the original media launch in 2019.

Its finished in Horizon Blue, complemented by 19-inch forged matte black wheels that look to be the same sort fitted to the Fuji Edition. Inside is a carbon fibre dashboard insert proudly displaying a production number and a circuit map of Jarama.

The standard kit list seems to match that of the generously-equipped base 3.0-litre Supra, which means Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a 10-speaker sound system and an 8.8-inch infotainment screen are fitted at no extra cost.

Mechanically, it’s no different, meaning there’s a 3.0-litre turbocharged BMW ‘B58’ inline-six living under the long bonnet. It produces 335bhp and 365lb ft of torque, which is sent the way of the rear-most Michelins via an eight-speed automatic gearbox and an electronically-controlled locking differential.

Toyota GB says it’ll reveal pricing and ordering information later in the year. Expect a modest increase over the £53,655 it charges for a base 3.0-litre Supra. In the UK, we’ll be getting 30 of the 90 units available across Europe.

Good morning all,
I hope this is not a repost! Toyota is releasing a new Special Edition A90 in the EU market called the Jarama Edition named after the track in Spain. Seems like an A91 without the spoiler and the rally stripes but one thing it does get over the A91 is a numbered decal like the Launch Editions between the passenger side vents. Not going to lie, i'm pretty salty about that.
