I'd try contacting these guys ( https://bimmer-remote.com ) and see if they know anything > the owner is an active member on Bimmerpost forums listed under user name kubax86 and has been activating carplay full screen (for a fee of course) for members on there remote for a long time. Perhaps he can help out.

I’m sure the update exists just getting the dealer to know how to do it since it’s not their typical Toyota. I asked my dealer about it and they said when or if there is a update it would come over the air like most actual Toyota’s do but as we know this car doesn’t work that way.

I wouldn’t want to give up the split screen option with this change. I love being able to run dual maps or maps/audio on a trip shown in this roadtrip video.

Why would you want dual maps if you can’t have navigation on both? That’s like looking browsing the forums on your phone and computer at the exact same time.

Because you can see a zoomed out overview on one side or your audio info.

That’s true. I’ve been using native navigation because I get navigation on HUD and my cluster. And it’s easy to zoom in and out unlike CarPlay.

CarPlay does have dashboard view tho so you don’t need split screen to view audio info

Can someone post pic of widescreen dashboard view? Curious if it looks distorted. Keep in mind you can’t see Sat radio on CarPlay tho.

It’s on an earlier post here. Page 8 I believe for me.

A couple cars that were built after 3/21 have updated fullscreen ACP.

So, there apparently was a new iSTEP version released. However, I’m not sure if I’m brave enough to let a company remotely try to update this. I don’t want to brick my car.
Long time lurker here.
Registered to say that I would be willing to be a guinea pig. I have an untunable 2021, so not too worried about messing up tuning/tunability.

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to thank Dustin for his patience regarding this, as you may know we specialise in everything coding/performance wise for BMW’s and with the A90 sharing the same platform as the Z4M40i and the NBT EVO we knew at some stage they would enable these cars to have Fullscreen CarPlay.

Previously this wasn’t possible due to parameter restrictions, but after some testing and flashing an EVO of an A90 Supra to the latest I/Step I can confirm this is now supported and working.

All of those worried about having this done at a dealership as they will flash all ECU’s rest assured we can help here as we do not flash the DME and therefore it will remain mapped with the file on it currently and unlocked.

Anyone interested in having this done will need an OBD ENET Cable, working Windows 10 laptop and a battery stabiliser that supply’s 30/40A concurrent voltage (this stops ECU’s sleeping or going offline whilst being flashed)

if anyone wants this feel free to get in touch and drop us a message @definedcoding on socials or via email [email protected]

Also thanks to Rob at retrofitmybimmer for supplying the latest data and helping with some development tasks.
