Lots of new Supra’s being advertised on Autotrader’s website at nice discounts…

These are just a few examples!

It makes no sense why dealers are advertising used one year old Supra’s for over $50,000..

Why not just buy a new one from a Toyota Dealership that is offering a nice discounts!

The 21 ones aren’t tunable. That maybe the reason.

Yea I think the used market on these cars inflated due to demand for tunes. I'm seeing a lot of people hunting tunable 2021s with the goal of immediately adding all parts to cart and going for 600hp. I think the words gotten out these are big power cars.

I remember driving around my STI and getting Mustangs and other cars chasing me down or doing a fly by at WOT knowing they would run bus lengths on me....that does not happen in this car.

My guess is that the majority of the Supra owners could care less if they’re tunable…

It’s lots of fun to modify your vehicle … but most owners will keep their Supra’s dead stock…

My guess is less than 10% of the Supra owners could care less if they’re tunable…

Generally with other platforms I would agree, but this is a Supra we're talking about. How many stock MKIVs exist? My spit ball guess is 50% care. I cared and mine is bone stock and will stay that way until I get bored with the Power or have a week where can I wrench on car without wife seeing all the new parts. ???

If you can even find a new one on the lot. New car inventory is at an all time low right now. Thus making used car market skyrocket. I highly doubt anybody is offering any kinds of good discounts right now. I been shopping for a car recently and dealerships are asking for msrp. No negotiations or discounts. It’s know like take it or leave it attitude as somebody will buy their car off the new car lot if you don’t.

What I’ve found with all of these low internet prices is that they include a combination of all the possible incentives and rebates some of which you might not be eligible for and they exclude the doc fee and sometimes shipping. So, there might be a recent college grad, military, former lead holder, etc. encentives that you don’t get. Then add $899 or $ 399for doc fee (Virginia be MD) and $899 for transportation fee and you can have a difference of $4k from advertised price.

My internet pricing question always opens with “what price do I qualify for and what are the additional fees?”

Now, 25 years later, most are modified, sure, because tuners collect them. Back when they were new that wasn't the case. They were driven around bone stock for the most part. People didn't even like them all that much until F&F came along.

My A91 isn't tunable, and it doesn't bother me one bit. The car is fantastic stock. After seeing what it can do bone stock on the race track, a REAL one, with turns, the only performance mods I'd do are tires.

That's certainly a fair point, though I'd say just as many people are interested in the tunability as their are actually willing to go do a proper track day at something that isn't a 1/4 mile straight line....so maybe not as many as I thought LOL.

I had this happen to me. Found one advertised for $5K off MSRP.. Well that was assuming you qualified for military, college graduate, etc, etc. It was really $3500 off, and then you have to watch for tricks. Like $800 dealer fees, and you also have to buy packages for vin etching, paint protection, etc that add another $1K to the bottom line. Or there is a really high interest rate to get to that discount.

Not saying deals are not out there, but get the out the door price in writing

Back in April I feel the advertised 50.5k to 51k prices on Autotrader were mostly legitimate. If you were willing to ship you could get a good deal without negotiating. At that same time you'd see a couple cars listed for under 50k. All of those I checked into were bait and switch.

Now I have to imagine anyone advertising for anything less than 52-53k is trying to pull something and you'd really have to search for a dealer that wasn't.
