I agree, but am still staying positive about the MKV. If Toyota truly screws this up, they will be dead to me and I will never buy another car, suv, or truck from them again. If all they care about is money, then they can have someone elseās, not mine. Chrysler for f**k sake has a Hellcat, Demon, Trackhawk, Rubicon, and a bunch of other SRT goodies....and they were drowning several years ago! Toyota is probably the most wealthiest carmaker on this planet and they cant afford to make a true MKIV successor??? I donāt believe they will screw this up....but if they do, they will be dead to me.Never underestimate Toyota in failing.. they do it in flying colors!! Come up with a stupid reasoning for not bringing what the market wants every time. But they can justify 8 SUVs in the line up. Sad
Thatās exactly why I have a Viper, Z06 and a Mustang. Cause I respect my country and want to support them. However, Toyota does do a lot for the US and Iād like to support them as well. Iāll be buying a TRD Pro 4Runner shortly, however I wonāt be buying a Supra if no manual is available.I agree, but am still staying positive about the MKV. Agree, think M2. It has way less stuff than the M4 and even less options than the M240. They market the M2 as a drivers car, where simple = better, but I'm sure a big part of keeping it simple and only having one interior color was to keep the cost down and the profits up!considering Best Car called the production version & geneva concepts to a tee, there is a very good chance they are right again. Not to mention this render matches many aspects on what we saw in the original post in this thread.
Personally I have a hard time believing the Supra's interior will be drastically different than the Z4s especially since budgeting concerns seem to be all over the place..my bet is the Supra will unfortunately/fortunately just be littered with plastic compared to the Z4 which will get the more expensive looking cabin and Toyota will market it as a "sporty" "driver-centric" cabin free of "clutter"....aka cost cutting to make a bigger profit...would be silly for them to spend money on the interior when we don't even get a stick
Too funny. It may be failing in our eyes, but it is achieving what they set out to do in their eyes. I see your point.Never underestimate Toyota in failing.. they do it in flying colors!! I really have been considering a domestic car recently. Looking at the GT-R and itās price tag....as great as itās numbers are, the domestics are putting out some serious competition, with more options, and lower sticker price! Rumors are that the new Shelby Cobra GT500 is suppose to be 700hp+ and cost in the $60k range!?!?!. One of the engineers at Ford even said, āvenom kills demons.ā If that ends up being true, I would be stupid not to buy one right? For now, the GT-R is still high on my list because I love GT-Rās....but, 2018-2019 will be an interesting timeframe for new whips.Thatās exactly why I have a Viper, Z06 and a Mustang. https://www.motor1.com/news/238855/2019-toyota-supra-interior-spied/Gone are the old BMW Z4-sourced parts as this prototype has Toyota's own components.
As we are inching closer to the much-awaited world premiere of the reborn Toyota Supra, spy shots are getting more and more revealing with each batch. The latest images showing a near-production prototype tackling the NĆ¼rburgring allow us to take a peek inside the cabin of the two-seater coupe with its own bits and pieces. Previous test vehicles caught by our spies had most of the interior components borrowed from the old BMW Z4.
We get the rare opportunity to see the digital driverās display and the design of the leather-wrapped steering wheel, which isnāt necessarily very exciting to be brutally honest. Behind it are the silver shift paddles for the automatic transmission set to be the sole offering as Toyota recently said the 2019 Supra does not need a manual gearbox and thatās why it probably wonāt get one.
The infotainment screen appears to be sitting high on the center console, above the air vents and the physical controls for the climate settings. To some extent, the look of the dashboard resembles the layout seen last year in the Z4 concept, which could be a sign the two cars will share a good chunk of the interior parts as well. This nifty photo comparison below illustrates the similarities, especially when it comes down to the appearance of the center console:
Although the Z4 and Supra will share the platform, both BMW and Toyota have promised the cars will be very different from one another. From what we know so far about the Supra, aside from the aforementioned lack of a manual, it will feature a 50:50 weight distribution and a pure two-seat layout. The long-rumored hybrid powertrain might not make the cut, but a beefier version with Gazoo Racing branding could arrive further down the line as hinted by the racy concept car shown last month in Geneva.
Toyota is expected to unveil the new Supra sometime this fall, following the BMW Z4ās debut in the summer. Both cars will likely share the assembly line at Magna Steyrās factory in Graz, Austria.
Itās worth mentioning the Supra could very well be one of the most popular cars shot by spy photographers taking into account the first batch of photos dates back to September 7, 2016 and a quick search in the database shows plenty of other sets have emerged since then.
Anytime, if its new news or breaking news, feel free to start a new thread. I think JT prefers it that way, and we can feature it. Also, it can always be easily merged later on if needed. Thanks mods
