I brought my 2020 Supra for the software recall and when I got my car back the navigation system just indicates "Loading". I brought it again and they could not get it to load. Has anyone had this issue and what was done to get the navigation to load?

Thanks,

Have you gone in for the recall? If so, which dealer did you use?
No I'm not brave enough to go through with the recall yet. Waiting for the 1st wave of people to do it and get feedback.

I asked so I don't end up at the same Dealer, since I'm in SoCal.

Yes, most likely, Toyota dealership fried your Navi. You will need an entire headunit.

Two of my local Supra buddies have trashed headunits too as a result of the recall.

On one Supra they also broke a wire when changing the cabin air filter. His Supra will be at the dealer for weeks. They put him in a Corolla loaner. Heā€™s loving life.

This reminds me of my Golf-R's nav that died as XM radio subscription ended.. seems data got stuck in the buss or something and nav data no longer loads.. just shows "loading" and goes on forever until it restarts itself.

My screen seems to be working with the exception of the Nav. showing "loading".

Oh wow! Thatā€™s insane! I have a scheduled oil change coming up on the 24th and they wanna do the recall then. Can I tell them to hold off or will they put something like ā€œdeniedā€. My luck hasnā€™t been so great since I got this car and donā€™t wanna lose it for week.

Heck, they even told me a guy last week brought his in for it and the update didnā€™t take so they had to call BMW and basically kept his Supra for 3 days.

All this talk of fried head units has me spooked for my recall this coming weekend. Might just hold off 'til the next service too lol

@Supraf512 Did you ever get this resolved? I have the exact same issue. Had the software recall done and everything works fine except for navigation stuck on loading.

I have not gone back after spending 2 days at the dealership. I'll wait for my next maintenance appointment. How many times have you gone? What did they say to you?

I have an appointment Monday morning. Two Supra techs are available that day and have stated that freezing of certain functions have been reported. I have heard the fix can be as simple as updating the software again to as extreme as having to replace the head unit, so we shall see.

Well just got off the phone with the Service Advisor and they have to replace the head unit. They have submitted the order for it and will advise on eta when they get more information. They are saying I must have had a bad unit all along, but I personally think this software upgrade caused it. In the meantime, the car is good to go, I just have no navigation. Once the replacement comes in, they will set up an appointment for me to have it installed.
