I had tried doing some of my own vinyl accents but working with knifeless tape proved to be a little more difficult than expected and I couldn't get clean lines that I was happy with. I removed that this weekend and replaced it with 1/2" and 1/4" vinyl stripes on a roll and am much happier with the result. Turning corners with it was a bit more difficult but the straight edges on the stripes are a lot more crisp.

I got the same one here, I cant get the stock one out. I have even scratched my stock button and the part around it...
If you haven't.... wipe the button with half rubbing alcohol, half water. I had an awful time getting mine off, but once i cleaned off my greasy prints, popped out on the third pull.

Been playing with some red alcantara. Just got this bit done. Mainly because I always hit my knee on that part and that plastic hurts like a mofo. Tried to get the other side off but apparently, there’s a screw or a bolt holding that part in place. So I guess I need to figure out where else I want to put some red on it before taking the entire console apart.
Overall, I like it. Gives the interior a bit more color than just black. esp with the red exterior.

I figure I can decide what to do by the weekend. When I have some spare time to work on it.
I’ll prob add it on the arm rest and the passenger side of the knee pad.
Not sure about the doors yet. Not sure I can make a decent looking cut without messing up the leather or pleather or whatever the hell that part is made out of.

Looks good so far! That part stands out a LOT - but it looks like you did an awesome job! I'm sure it will look fantastic when you're done. I'm thinking about doing the shiny black bits in alcantara soon - just not sure which color.

I was in that same boat, used a bunch of different tools/3m tape but ultimately had to buy clay bar and worked no problem
I was today at a foiling company and asked that guy for some help. I took a new sticky clay bar and we tried to get that button out. We have also tried to heat it up with a heat gun. After 45 minutes we gave up... I really dont know what to do. On YouTube works everything fine, but not for me, its crazy. I want that stupid button.

I was LOSING my mind trying to get my button out. I used clay from amazon and made sure to clean the button with rubbing alcohol swabs. Let it dry and swabbed it again. Let dry and came out on the third pull. Good luck!

Really didn't like that stock steering wheel so changed it out. Love the look and feel of the new wheel.
Looks really nice, the german flag stripes at the top are making me chuckle. Where did you get those red accents for the a/c dial and navigation dial?
