For the $195K price tag I would have expected more racing parts in the engine bay. It still has the baffles on the air box.

PRICE:
$222,689 (as tested)

:confused1:

That said... You'd be pressed to replicate one for that price in the aftermarket if you contracted a chassis/race shop to build it for you.

Wish they made a street version with that 500lb weight loss. I can think of at least 4 things our cars don't need.

500lb weight loss with a roll cage? that would be at least a 750 lb weight loss ~20% fairly substaintial.

Indeed especially when you think about what they added to the car like the roll cage and air jack system.

Afaik, the interior is still using the oem dash and center console too. The rest of the inside is gutted with bespoke carbon door panels. I'd guess most of the weight comes from the carbon roof/hood and replacing the glass with non-moving plastics.

I'm not racing my Supra as my BRZ has that roll but, I reallu wish we had a better (more complete) weight reduction thread.

Where the hell is the 500 lbs weight reduction coming from?

Official GT4 (on the brochure) dry weight is 2,976.2lbs, and a stock '21 premium 3,304.0lbs dry weight so 327.8lbs-ish difference. Based off the max spec 3,400lbs for a road car, 423lbs difference.

This is my speak. All fun speculation base off what I know.

No clue what the car would weight.
No clue on the difference in weight from the OEM to the Brembo BM-6 GTRace brake/rotor setup.
No clue on the aero weight.
No clue on the quick jack or ecu swap. I'd guess even given the amount of safety crap the supra has.

-Interior gut 75lbs
-OMP Racing seat?
-Lightweight battery?
-OZ racing 18" wheels w/centerlocks with Pirelli 305/660 -20lbs?
-Racing Fuel Cel w/ unknown size?
-Akrapovič Race Titanium catback with linkpipe is -8.2lbs (The downpipe is SS and doesn't save any weight.)
-Transmission is missing the o/d gear. -1.2lbs :p

-Plastics4Performance sell a GR Supra GT 4 race-only polycarbonate/lexan
window kit (front, rear and sizes.) They don't list the exact weight difference. But, they say it saves over 50% in weight. IIRC the rear hatch's glass is some 45lbs alone. I'd guess this could drop 100lbs???

Holy crap thanks for this.

I've been curious to see what else I can do to reduce the weight on the Supra. I think I've done most of the things on that list aside from:

- gutting out the interior
- Fuel cell
- Lexan windows / carbon doors

I REFUSE to do the lexan windows and doors. I did it on my last project and it was honestly a PIA.

It only mentions the six piston brakes and the 500lb weight reduction
Yeah thanks for this. Just wanted to know which head and manifold does the GT4 Supra have. We all know that with a proper tune and some bolt on mods, this power/torque can be achieved reliably with either a 2-port or 6-port from our street car Supra.
