Anyone driving their Supra all year long ? I live in Ottawa, Canada where we get kind of alot of snow.
Of course I would get the best set of tires I can.
let me know if you drive your Supra all year long in these north conditions :)

I’ll be driving mine. I’m in Kentucky though so more likely frost then snow but I’ll probably look at some continental dws tires

In Virginia, unless it's a bad year we usually get snow towards the latter half of winter I want to say. I drove my 86 through the winter. I generally always drive whatever I have year-round SUV or sports car. I'm not emotionally set up to put something away for so long. If weather is bad I handle it, but I always prefer to drive the most beautiful thing I have LOL.

I live in Ottawa and park mine for the winter. Even with appropriate tires I'd be afraid of hitting chunks of ice and damaging the body given how poorly they plow the roads around here. Of course I have a Tacoma as well so I have options when it comes to vehicles....

I believe it was the Road and Track folks who had a long term 2020 Supra and stated that they would get stuck in the snow because the car is so low.

If the Supra is your only car in a snowy state - you have made a mistake and should have a different vehicle to drive in the winter.

"Our Supra's cold-weather shoes comprise a quartet of rare and expensive Pirelli Sottozero Serie II tires specifically designed for sports-car use. The rears were originally developed for the Aston Martin DB9, while the fronts were engineered for the Lamborghini Aventador. However, their soft compound and extra grip in cold and slush weren't enough when white stuff piled up and packed itself under the Supra's low-slung underbelly. "This car is an absolute disaster in deep snow," reported staff editor Annie White. "It gets stuck very easily, and you then have to dig out the whole underbody before you can move again. I got stuck three times in the span of an hour and eventually figured out that if I just drove faster I could power through areas of built-up snow—which is more fun. But still, not good."

Staff editor Colin Beresford had a similar experience during three snowy days that he had the Supra. "I only got stuck three times," he said, "which I'm considering a win." Added White, "I get that this isn't a snow car, and I still love it, but people who want this to be their only car and who live in a snowy area should be prepared for massive inconvenience."

If you look those tires up, they're high performance snow tires which are basically useless. They're also the only snow tires (at least that I've seen) offered in the same size as the stock tires. That leads me to believe they probably got them in the stock size which is way too wide for snow use.

I ordered a set of 18x9s with 235/45 Blizzak WS90s all around for the winter and I don't anticipate on having any issues getting around in the snow.

I drove my 2013 FRS (manual) through 7 NY winters on the stock wheels with General Altimax snows on them and never got stuck. Mind you that car only weighed 2700lbs...

In Ottawa too! I’ll be storing mine for the winter. You’ll have to let me know how it goes with driving yours in the snow.

I had a BRZ for the last few chicagoland winters, but I'm too worried to drive the Supra in the snow. Plus I don't want to deal with salt/rust. I always suggest blizzaks for winter driving though. They made the BRZ able to pass up 4x4 trucks despite being RWD. Good luck to you and if anything, you'll be plowing anything over 4" on the road.

To piggyback off my last post here, generally have made it by with the 86 during winter. I personally don’t know anyone who wouldn’t take ride height and clearance into account for driving in the snow, Idk why they thought they could accurately judge a sports car at 4 inches of snow. My 03 highlander honestly I wouldn’t have driven in snow greater than 3 inches in the first place unless I absolutely had to. I work weekends and holidays and all-weather conditions and I wouldn’t trust certain things when it’s that bad. It depends on where you live but just make the best decision you can, it’s also about what kind of support system you have. Can family give you a ride? A friend or a coworker? Etc. I usually wait for road crews here to clear stuff because I live in a decent area.

I drive my Supra here in Switzerland year round. I got some Continental Wintercontact TS860 S. We kinda get some snow here. But to be honest I look forward when the first snow comes down. That said, they plow away the snow so fast, you almost dont have time to enjoy it.

I will drive my Supra in the snow season. I'm not sure if I should put some underbody protection on it, or if its enough to wash the underbody more often. I know old cars die from the road salt, but its my first new car. Some suggestions?
