A few weeks back I had my audio setup installed in my 2021 Supra by way of Monster Customs here in Atlanta.

- Blam Signature 4' Components (Front)
- Blam Relax 4' Coaxials (Rear)
- Helix 4 Channel
- Helix Mono
- Helix DSP
- Kicker 10' Q Series Sub

During the installation something happened to the DSP which is being replaced on Tuesday. So since I've had the car back I haven't experienced the stereo with the DSP and basically everything is running from the head unit EQ. Honestly I am not super impressed right now with my sound quality. The sub is awesome but interior is sub par as I'd consider it a minor step up from stock. I have never owned a DSP. Am I going to be blown away once the DSP is hooked up? Do I potentially need to have some 6.5's installed or some 8's to get some mid bass going?

DSP should make a pretty big difference.

Thanks! Do you know if Subs are hooked up to DSPs as well?
No idea honestly, this cars audio is the worst thing about it. I'd rip it all out if I had the time and patience, I hate the head unit is tied into the car the way it is.

The problem is the 4” speakers your using. That’s no where near enough to bridge the frequencies from mid range to sub bass.
A few of us have had this problem.
The ultimate solution is 6.5” door pods. But expensive.
Is it possible to add 8” mid bass speakers back behind u again.

I've been following your setup from way back. Appreciate the feedback. What are you running in the interior front and back?

Honestly. Metal has done it best.
But I’m running all audiofrog up front. 4” and 1” components. Active.
Then 4” rear fill. AF

the difference is the Audio Development 8” mid bass. And the tuning that brings it all together.
For the sub. 10” AF GB10. Which is absolutely incredible

All through JL VXI amps.

So for you. You should throw in 8” mid bass in Rear. OR. 6.5” door pods like metal did.

I’m curious how you guys are pulling signal from the factory system? I know there are Helix and M0bridge devices that can be used but I’m just curious if anyone is doing it differently, like say catching the signal on the output side of the factory amp?

I should have better answers toward the end of this week. The car is going back in to have the Helix 4 channel amp removed along with the Helix DSP. The Helix rep met me at the store during my recent visit and he'd stated we needed to run a much bigger DSP with 10+ channels. So we are going with a "Match" DSP which is under the MSC audio distributors. Signal matching is extremely important as the first time around we mistakenly didn't provide enough outputs to support everything. I will provide another update soon.

Would it be an issue just starting from scratch and using a 4" Focal K2 component set up front, quality 6x9s in the rear (in place of the factory 8" subs), a separate sub, and a DSP amp to tie them all together?

I would honestly stick w 8” mid bass for rear. More cone area I believe.
But yes you can do that. You just gotta be creative w tuning to get your staging correct. I would pay for that part actually

Always an option. I know Rockford Fosgate makes some good 8" midbass speakers. If I just did the K2s up front, midbass and then sub.... would tuning even be all that necessary?

There’s a lot of good options for 8”. Honestly the Steven audio 8” mb8 are a great speaker for a great value.

You will definitely need the tuning part because the 4” speakers up front Do Not cut it. You need the time alignment to setup your staging. Believe me. I have 2 tunes on my car. 1 seat and 2 seat.
The 1 seat tune is incredible. The 2 seat tune is more like the 90s
