Are we back for sure. Darn cloudflare!
I'm not on 1.1.1.1. are people on it affected as well? Shows my understanding of DNS.

Seems to me like you don't understand DNS.

The issues is objectively not CloudFlare, it's the underlying DNS server that was failing to respond.

Cloudflare doesnt work that way. The site is cloud hosted behind a load balancer/wap which has the IP (usually via CNAME), and then routes the request by hostname to the proper internally hosted site.

ah wish I was the nerd I used to be. now I'm behind on tech and cars. didn't care to watch CES on YT.

@XtremeMaC I think you're confusing CloudFlare's Public DNS Resolver product with their DNS product.
Indeed. That's what happens when you type before you think for a sec. Too happy the forum is back. lol. Yes, indeed public name resolver..
I knew about the CNAME. Had bunch of websites over the years. latest being the WordPress for Supra supramkv.parts that I never published.. Did I mention I'm terribly sleep deprived :D

Seems odd how this sites outages are following the power outages at my house. Power just came back on and so did the site!

Are you hosting the site in your house? Do you have a server room or some such?
