I heard the same thing from several other people shopping around. My dealer did sent me an email with the build sheet. I guess dealers are misleading buyers to do business with them? I gave up after a week calling dealers every day and hoping I'd find the exact trim NOT marked up well over 5k msrp (best I found from shopping around). I settled with this dealer since price is still below my budget. In all instances, what happens after the turnaround time, if my vehicle has not been delivered yet? Thanks for the insight.
Do you have a VIN? If not, then its not guaranteed that they have one coming in for you. I would start looking OOS and see if a dealer farther out could give you a better deal.

When I first put my deposit down in July last year my dealer gave me I guess what you could call a "build sheet", but that wasn't "my car"... it was just a sheet showing the options and pricing they were preferencing for. I was also given sales paperwork showing the agreed upon pricing for when my car eventually came, and that paperwork had a "temporary" VIN number on it. She even told me explicitly that that VIN number as not "my car" and was just a fake they had to use to generate the paperwork in their system.

From my experience, there is no set "turnaround time". That dealership could get an allocation today or not for another six months. The actual "clock" does not start counting until you have a confirmed allocation with a VIN number, and you can see where in the build and delivery process that specific vehicle is. For me my preference went in in July of 2022 and I did not get a confirmed allocation until November. It then took until almost late January 2023 for my car to arrive at the dealer.

This is why many people recommend you have multiple deposits in at multiple dealers, seeing who can get the allocation first for the best price. Because until you actually have a confirmed allocation with a real VIN number, you are in limbo.

This great to know because this is my first time shopping out of state because all of my local dealers here in FL are marking up the MSRP over 10k which I couldn't settle on. Quite frankly, being that I am in no rush to get my car and having dealt with great service from this particular dealer, I just might stick with them and wait it out. I settled at a sweet price.

Looks like mine should be at the dealer thus night or Friday morning. Any word on yours?
Dealer said it should be here by the 14th-that was quicker than I thought
Fingers crossed it gets here sooner haha

As someone else posted, a bunch of cars got posted on the Toyota inventory page for the Texas area late last week. I snagged one of these allocations.

What seemed different about these is for the past few months when I was watching the allocations would always post with an availability date 1-3 months in the future. But all these Texas cars were like 2 weeks in the future.

It should would be cool to get my car that soon, but does that seem realistic?

The dates shift a lot tbh, sometimes you get really close to the date range then the date range shifts by a week or 2. I'd ask your dealer what they see on their end as they'll have a more accurate date

Mine should be at the dealer tomorrow or Thursday. Picking it up on Friday. Can't wait to finally bring her home!

This is what my dealer sent me which has some odd statuses as the vessel parts show estimated but the railhead departure shows completed. Not sure what to make of it.

That is strange. I guess we'll find out within a couple weeks how accurate it all is.

I've got a non premium white allocation! Really excited! As you said though, this particular tracking website doesn't work on the vin that I got :( All I know, according to the dealer, it is leaving port on 2/7. Late March delivery maybe
Is yours saying it left port now? Mine was supposed to yesterday as well but now the tracking screen the dealer has access to is showing it's at the port until 04/15. I know that tracker isn't necessarily accurate but that's going to suck if it was delayed 2 months.

I wonder if this is just Toyota making sure all 2023 MY vehicles have a buyer. Deliveries probably won’t be until closer to summer. They will probably be making announcements about next MY vehicles/updates in April as usual. I don’t know what is in store for 2024 MY but at this point I’m leaning towards waiting for one of those.

I'm guessing (hoping) it's just a glitch with their tracking. I'm supposed to hear back from the dealer after they check to see if they can get any more info from their rep.

My dealership contact just called me and said its at the Houston distribution center so should have it in a few days. Status shows railhead arrival complete so guess that top status does not really mean anything. Also the Toyota tracker site does not show this detail.

I'm not sure as that tracker isn't working on my vin. I'll follow up with the dealer in a week or so maybe
